3. Privacy Consent and Protection: Unless otherwise authorized by the entrants, any personal information provided by the entrants will be used solely for the purpose of administering this Contest and will not be used for any other purpose. When entering the Contest, however, entrants may give their express, opt-in consent to receive Canon’s promotional and product newsletters in hard copy and electronic form. Eligible entrants must then (i) sign up for a Creator Lab membership, (ii) follow Canon Canada’s Instagram page, (iii) opt-in to marketing emails, and (iv) agree to the Contest Rules (an “Entry”).

Note: At the time of completing the Entry Form, you also have the opportunity to opt-in to receive promotional communications from the Sponsor and sign up for a Creator Lab membership. Note, opting-in to receive promotional communications from the Sponsor and signing up for a Creator Lab membership will not in any way whatsoever increase or otherwise impact the chances of winning in this Contest.  You can opt-out of receiving promotional communications from the Sponsor and/or end your Creator Lab membership at any time without impacting your chances of winning in this Contest.

5. Entries: Only one Entry per eligible entrant is permitted. If an entrant enters the Contest more than once, all of their entries may be disqualified.  By entering the Contest, all entrants agree to abide by these official rules for the Contest (the “Rules”).  All entries become the property of Canon, are subject to verification and none will be returned. Canon is not responsible for lost, misdirected, damaged or delayed entries.  Canon reserves the right to disqualify any entrant from the Contest, in its discretion, should the entrant at any stage supply untruthful, inaccurate, or misleading details and/or information or should the entrant be otherwise ineligible for the Contest.

6. Sponsor: Canon is the sole Contest sponsor and administrator.

7. Instagram Not Involved: The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Instagram (the “Social Platform”). The Social Platform is hereby completely released of all liability by each entrant in this Contest.  Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Contest must be directed to the Sponsor and not to the Social Platform.

8. Prizes: There is one (1) prize (“Prize”) available to be won consisting of one Canon EOS R50 V with RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM lens kit (ARV $1,199.99).

9. Draws: There will be one random draw for this Contest.  The draw will be for awarding the Prize and will be held, from all eligible entries, at Canon’s offices located at 8000 Mississauga Road, Brampton, Ontario, L6Y 5Z7 at 1:00 p.m. (EDT) on the fifth business day following the last day of the Contest Period (the “Draw Time”). The selected entrant must qualify as a winner under sections 10 and 11 of the Rules.  The chance of winning the Prize will be dependent upon the total number of eligible entries received.

10. Communications: No communications with Contest entrants will be entered into except with the entrant selected by the draw who will be notified once by both email or telephone within seven days following the Draw Time at the email address and telephone number on file.  All decisions of Canon in relation to administering the Contest and awarding the Prize are final and binding on all entrants.

11. Qualifying Selected Entrant: Subject to section 11 of the Rules, the selected entrant, before being declared a winner, must correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question (“STQ”) without the aid of any mechanical or electronic device, to be administered by email or telephone at a mutually convenient time.  The selected entrant must also sign a declaration and release (the “Winner’s Release”) to:  (a) confirm compliance with the Rules; (b) accept the Prize as awarded; (c) agree to the publication, reproduction and/or other use of his/her name, address, voice, statements about the Contest or other likeness without further notice or compensation, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by or on behalf of the Sponsor in any manner or medium whatsoever, including print, broadcast or the internet (except where prohibited by law); and (d) release Canon from any liability relating to the Contest and the Prize.  If the selected entrant correctly answers the mathematical STQ and delivers the signed Winner’s Release to Canon, they will be qualified as a winner and may claim the Prize in accordance with section 13 of the Rules.

12. Second and Third Chance to Correctly Answer STQ: Canon may, in its sole discretion, provide a selected entrant who has answered the STQ incorrectly or not within the time allotted, with the opportunity to correctly answer a second (and if necessary and, in Canon’s sole discretion, deemed desirable, a third) different STQ.  If the second and/or third question are answered incorrectly or not within the time allotted, the Prize is forfeited and will be made available to be won by another selected entrant.

13. When Another Entrant May Be Selected: Failure to reach the selected entrant within seven days of the Draw Time, failure of the selected entrant to return the executed Winner’s Release by at least email within seven days after receipt, or failure of the selected entrant to meet all Contest conditions may result in the forfeiture of the Prize and Canon selecting by random draw another entrant as a potential winner.

14. Acceptance of Prize: Once a selected entrant has been qualified as a winner, Canon will mail the Prize to that winner. The Prize is non-transferable and not redeemable for cash (in whole or in part). Canon reserves the right to vary or substitute the Prize with a prize of equal or greater value.  In the event that the winner is unable to use any or all of the Prize components due to reasons beyond the control of Canon, no compensation or substitution of the Prize or any component of the Prize will be provided.

15. Applicable Law and Contest Changes/Cancellation: This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws.  Void where prohibited.  Canon reserves the right to withdraw, terminate or amend this Contest at any time, without notice.

16. Limitation of Liability: Canon shall not be liable for any loss, property damage or personal injury suffered in connection with this Contest or the awarding or enjoyment of the Prize, including, without limitation, any direct, special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages even if Canon has been advised of the possibility of such loss or damage.

17. Glitch Disclaimer: Canon will not be liable for (a) any failure of the entry, draw or other Contest process or any failure of any website or other online page relating to the Contest, (b) any technical malfunction or other problems relating to telephone networks or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment or software, (c) the failure of any entry to be received by Canon for any reason including, without limitation, any postal delay or strike relating to regular mail or any technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, and/or (d) any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer or other device related to or resulting from participating or downloading any material in the Contest.

18. More Winners Than Anticipated: If, as a result of an error in the entry process, drawing or any other aspect of the Contest, there are more potential winners of the Prize than contemplated in the Rules, there will be a random draw amongst all eligible Prize claimants to award the Prize.

19. All entries are subject to verification at any time and for any reason. Canon reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to require proof of identity and/or eligibility (in a form acceptable to Canon – including, without limitation, government issued photo identification): (i) for the purposes of verifying an individual’s eligibility to participate in this Contest; (ii) for the purposes of verifying the eligibility and/or legitimacy of any entry or other information entered (or purportedly entered) for the purposes of this Contest; and/or (iii) for any other reason Canon deems necessary, in its sole and absolute discretion, for the purposes of administering this Contest in accordance with these Rules.  Failure to provide such proof to the complete satisfaction of Canon within the timeline specified by Canon may result in disqualification in the sole and absolute discretion of Canon.

20. ANYONE DEEMED BY CANON TO BE IN VIOLATION OF THESE RULES FOR ANY REASON IS SUBJECT TO DISQUALIFICATION IN THE SOLE AND ABSOLUTE DISCRETION OF CANON AT ANY TIME.
