About Eric Shiozaki
Eric Shiozaki is a filmmaker and creative director based in British Columbia, where he runs a commercial production studio serving the Fraser Valley and international clients along with the region’s only dedicated 35mm film lab. He started out shooting skate and snowboard footage on a Canon Rebel he bought with skate shop paycheques, and was taking paid work before he finished high school. That same instinct now drives commercial work for clients like Ford, Arc’teryx, Red Bull, Canon, Atlantic Records and Travel Alberta, plus an ongoing short film shot on vintage Canon glass.

Join commercial filmmaker and creative director Eric Shiozaki for an actionable look at making the leap from photography to filmmaking. The technical differences, what makes something cinematic, and why the jump is simpler than you might think. After his talk Eric will be available to continue the conversation hands-on at the video set tackling topics ranging from colour pipeline, autofocus for video, frame rates, open gate, and answering your video and filmmaking questions.
