Terms and conditions
Participation in the Canon Showcase Program (the “Program”) is subject to the following terms and conditions. By submitting an application, each team agrees to be bound by these terms.
1. Program Sponsor: The Program is sponsored and administered by Canon Canada Inc. (“Canon”).
2. Program Term: The Canon Showcase Program will run from the date of team selection through to December 31, 2026 (the “Program Term”). All Program obligations, including but not limited to participation in the Canon Media Day, fundraising activities, and sponsor promotion requirements, must be completed within the Program Term unless otherwise approved in writing by Canon. Any rights or benefits provided under the Program, including sponsorship funding and promotional opportunities, are limited to the Program Term and will expire upon its conclusion unless otherwise agreed by Canon.
3. Eligibility: The Program is open to amateur youth sports teams across Canada that meet the following criteria at the time of application:
- U15 to U17 age group
- Registered with a recognized Canadian league
- Roster size between 15 and 21 players
- Able to fulfill all Program requirements as outlined
Employees, representatives, and agents of Canon, its affiliates, and immediate family members are not eligible to participate.
4. Application and Selection: Submission of an application does not guarantee participation in the Program. All applications will be reviewed by Canon. Eligible teams will be evaluated based on overall fit, including but not limited to team profile, community engagement, and geographic representation. Canon reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to select participating teams and to determine the number of teams selected. Incomplete or inaccurate applications may not be considered.
5. Program Overview: Selected teams will receive:
- Sponsorship funding totaling $2,000 CAD
- Access to a Canon Media Day experience
- Eligibility to participate in Canon fundraising initiatives
All Program elements are subject to availability and may be modified at Canon’s discretion.
6. Sponsorship Payment Terms: Sponsorship funding will be distributed as follows:
- $1,000 CAD issued upon onboarding into the Program
- $1,000 CAD issued upon successful completion of the Canon Media Day
Final payment is contingent upon fulfillment of all Program requirements, including participation in the Media Day. Failure to meet Program requirements may result in withholding of funds and/or removal from the Program.
7. Team Participation Requirements: Selected teams agree to host one Canon Media Day in collaboration with Canon, participate in the Program’s fundraising initiative, and complete a minimum of twelve (12) fundraising kit sales. Teams are also required to promote Canon as a sponsor either by displaying the Canon logo on team jerseys and on-site signage during the Media Day or by proposing an alternative sponsor promotion plan that must be reviewed and approved in advance by Canon. Teams must provide reasonable access to facilities and cooperate with Canon staff and representatives to support the successful execution of the Media Day.
8. Fundraising Program: Fundraising kits will be produced and fulfilled by Canon on a per-order basis following confirmed sales. Participating teams are solely responsible for managing all aspects of the fundraising initiative, including promotion, order collection, and communication with their community. Canon will not produce inventory in advance and is not responsible for unsold products.
9. Media Day Participation: Teams agree to work collaboratively with Canon to schedule and host a Media Day between May and October 2026, with reasonable flexibility to accommodate team schedules. Canon will provide all equipment, instructors, and on-site personnel required to deliver the experience. All Canon equipment will remain under Canon’s control and management at all times. Participating teams must allow Canon staff and representatives to be present on-site for the duration of the Media Day.
10. Insurance and Liability: Participating teams are responsible for maintaining appropriate insurance coverage for their activities, including those associated with the Media Day. Canon shall not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage suffered by any participant, team member, or third party in connection with the Program. Participation in the Program is at the team’s own risk.
11. Exclusivity: Participating teams agree that no competing imaging or camera brand sponsors will be promoted in connection with the Program during the Program Term. Canon must remain the sole imaging partner associated with the Program.
12. Compliance and Disqualification: All information provided in connection with the application must be truthful and accurate. Canon reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any team or remove any team from the Program if it is determined that the team has provided false or misleading information, failed to meet eligibility or participation requirements, or is otherwise in violation of these Terms and Conditions.
13. Program Modifications and Cancellation: Canon reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Program, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason, without prior notice. Canon shall not be responsible for any costs or losses incurred by participating teams as a result of such changes.
14. Privacy: Any personal information collected in connection with the Program will be used solely for the purpose of administering the Program and will be handled in accordance with Canon’s privacy policy, available at https://canon.ca/en/privacy.
15. Governing Law: The Program is governed by the laws of Canada and the applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws in the province or territory in which the participating team resides. Notwithstanding the foregoing, any disputes, claims, or matters arising out of or relating to the Program shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario.
16. Acceptance of Terms: By submitting an application, the applicant confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
17. Limitation of Liability: Canon shall not be liable for any loss, property damage, or personal injury suffered in connection with the Program, including participation in any Program activities such as the Canon Media Day or fundraising initiatives. This includes, without limitation, any direct, special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages, even if Canon has been advised of the possibility of such loss or damage. Participation in the Program is at the sole risk of the participating team and its members.
18. ANYONE DEEMED BY CANON TO BE IN VIOLATION OF THESE RULES FOR ANY REASON IS SUBJECT TO DISQUALIFICATION IN THE SOLE AND ABSOLUTE DISCRETION OF CANON AT ANY TIME.
